Sec3 Camp

Well hello ppl....haven been blogging since I was preparing for Sec3 camp and now I'm back from the tiring camp...well, overall the camp was fun though there were challenges faced... I suppose photos will help to describe better

Well, this is where we camp in Gua Tongkai..we sleep in tents and have three meals provided for us...it's the best compared to the other food given us despite being in the worse environment.

It seems to me that in Malaysia, the worser the environment, the better the food..in the hotel we went to have our first meal, we did not get the best food, chickens were pretty much raw, rice were cold and flies were all around, although there were still flies in the cave, but they were not houseflies...

this is the view of the forest from the inside of our so-called cave (Gua Tongkai) where we were camping..it's a pretty good view in the morning and it feels good to take a walk..well, maybe not the place where our toilets are situated..

our toilets were pretty much dirty and in fact worse that having to do business in the wild. It was also a distance away from our campsite so we had to walk past the forest...it a pleasant experience in the day but a thrilling experience at night...

so here we are now, jumped straight to Taman Negara, in this hill where we took our firest step into the canopy walk for like 7hrs straight...many were dying half way through while others, probably due to a heavy breakfast, managed to catch up despite being the last... over there are two ways of climbing: Stairs which are quite badly maintained of its planks or natural platforms 'where the challenge begins...

there were also other activities such as rock climbing and abseiling which I did not take pictures since I had to climb with my camera off me..but I have successfully finished the entire route of the natural wall which was about 5 stories. I only manage to climb pass the 3 meters line last year when i was climbing the man-made wall.

Of course there was also the rapid firing (which at first we were going to use guns) where we kinda ride on boats and use the our hands to create fiction to cause water to splash at other ppl in the boats as the boat is moving..that's something we dun do in Singapore...or may seldom seen in civilized Singapore...

Another minor success during the camp was to blow a bubble gum....okay lol...but oh well, blame me of being deprived of gums ever since Singapore banned it..but oh well, it was very simple as all you have to do is kinda wrap the bubble gum around your tongue and blow while holding it with your lips...took me quite a while to master it..

Well, other than the fact that the toilets there were full of webs I think I hd missed out the trip bonding session where we played a games like "spider man" & "human chair"..well, to test on our teamwork and alertness...we also visited a cave..forgot what the name was but it was Gua and "moonlight" in malay where it probably was too dark for me to take pictures since we depended on torchlights to climb up and down deep slopes and stair...

Another places we walked passed was another cave and again i forgot the name but it was the most muddy cave I have ever been to, probably half the time we were sliding and slipping down the narrow routes of the cave...which made my pants brown and leeches on my socks

I kinda found a leech juz in time b4 it bit me...unfortunately for one of my friend...he was already too late since he had been bitten by the leech in his shoes and bled for the rest of the days...in end m leech was cremated and my friend's was soaked in salt where it dissolved and spilled out blood...pretty cool sight since two blood types from the leech was found. one of them was obviously from my friend...

well, i guess this is pretty much what i can remember now of the horrible nightmare i have in Sec3 camp especially being disturbed by cats at night and woken up by roosters at 4 am in the morning when we were in Taman negra, not forgetting our angry bus driver who kept being spammed on his phone calls and shouting the word"tiao" many times repeatedly on the way to taman negara..well, in the end, he got "tiaoed" away as he did not fetch us on our last day in malaysia...

After the train ride back from Malaysia to Singapore, i was pretty much exhausted since I did not sleep well, in the train, but at least I am now home where i finally can rest well and enjoy the holidays to come...which I have only:

hey guys, recently my school organized a workshop on The Personally System...yea.. the 4 type of personality they say..namely Dominant, Influencing, Stable, Compliant...DISC. different types of personality would have different characteristics..and we were given a test to determine our type of personality...

well, after the test, I got a I/S/C, meaning a dominant I, followed by S and C...

okay, it is said has I personally has the following personality:

• enthusiastic - well, sometimes for me
• trusting - hmm...I can't guarantee that
• optimistic - at times yes...
• persuasive - well, at times when I want somethingmy way..
• talkative - more like irritating
• Impulsive - well, pretty much
• emotional - hmm...maybe in private

As for S personality:

• good listener - well, that's what others say abt me..I dun noe what that means
• team player - team player...I work solo most of the time..
• possessive - hmm...maybe not
• steady - that depends on the situation
• predictable - people say I'm not though
• understanding - i could be at times
• friendly - true, in fact I wonder why...

As for C personality

• Accurate - well, not exactly in mathematics
• Conscientious - not really
• Careful - again, not in mathematics
• Fact-Finder - hmm...in projects maybe
• Precise - somewhat there
• high Standards - well, I decided not to push myself since sec1
• systematic - well, sometimes

lol...now for the confession, a greatest weakness of an I personality is REJECTION for C, it would be CRITICISM and S would be LOSS OF SECURITY so far, the only thing i lack is the D which is the Driver. well, it has characteristic of a somewhat commander like being direct, decisive, High ego strength, Problem Solver, risk taker and a self starter. Still, that's always a weakness in this personality which would be the fear of BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. Still this is the area, I have to bring out more in my personality as I am too laid back at times... so i guess that this will give a better understanding of my personally type...hopefully you may share yours too..

hi ppl, it's been a long time since I blogged..sigh due to the examinations, I did not even had the time to go to blogger...lol

so, here i am blogging again...well I am currently rejoicing since the exams are now over lol...but it was fun during the exams that you juz dun have lessons to bore you...anyways, now that the eams are over, it is time to prepare for a performance on the 21 May, A secondary 3 camp on 22nd, which i have no idea if I can survive it since it starts one day after my performance, and of course my CO Camp performance through the sectional and combined practice...

well, stress is getting higher as the years go by. I guess i should treasure my Sec3 days as Sec4 is going to be worse..sometimes i wonder if i still can cope with my studies if i end up being an SL in my section..i mean i have no experience as a leader...no much of a discipline, therefore getting this post could have been because I was one of the best choice among the 3 sec3s in our section, but oh well, the probability of me being an SL is pretty much 70%...hopefully by then, i would have been experience enough to conduct...for conductors out there..i seriously nid advice on this...

Well, there number of things i have to do during the holidays other than the others mentioned:

• 1) sell/fix and learn how to ride a bicycle
• 2) Learn to Swim
• 3) Learn to play badminton...lol
• 4)fix a guitar
• 5)Enjoy the holidays...okay...lame but it is essential.

hi all, long time no post, i think it is probably one week since I last blogged but oh well..anyways, just to let some of my reader know, I will be very busy this few days as exams are coming, and to be exact, it is just in:

Well, the good new is, Primary School CO have achieved GOLD WITH HONORS in the SYF competition. Indeed , it was a great achievement by the primary school but still pretty much expected as we, the secondary school CO members, placed lots of efforts mentoring them and teaching them every morning just to achieve this result during the SYF...still don't be too happy till you forget about the next SYF. even though they may have gotten a GOLD WITH HONOR position, but in order to prove that they are of GOLD WITH HONORS standards, they must work hard to achieve a another GOLD WITH HONORS for the next SYF...lol. in the meantime, we will have to concentrate more on not only our studies, but also the upcoming concert on the 21 May..so wish us luck.

Right I guess that's all I have to say for today but fyi, did you know that Singapore had hail just last Thursday in a heavy downpour? It is sad that hailstones of the size of 5 cent coins were found around Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh and Bishan. The full article is below:

Term2 news

hi ppl, Happy Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Well, nothing much to say about this week as after all it is the first week of another term. Well, this week was pretty much all about handing up holiday assignments and for some, rushing to complete them or chionging them...

Well, it is quite a unexpected week too as i have become an ASL of my CCA. Actually, I wanted to tell my seniors if i could have let others have my post but or well, I should be happy with whatever I have as a temporarily ASL...afterall there are only 3 sec3s in my section :P

okay, so now that the six songs are finalized for our CO concert. I have to start practicing like crazy, although some of the songs are recycled songs lol...anyways I guess we should keep track on how many days left b4 the concert day like always, i have added another countdown:

Well, of course there is still the audition I mentioned, pretty much no news yet so it is not too late wish me luck...after all even if i dun get into the camp, I can have more time to do other stuffs right?

well, hopefully this term would be better than the previous since I had a taste of what Sec3 life is, hopefully, i will be able to do better this term in studies...so I wish you all a happy long weekend ahead to catch up with your work.

Hey guys, this week was sure a hectic week and therefore i did not have the time to blog but since I am free now, I guess it is back to blogging once again.

well, this week could was pretty much a mess as I was rushing from remedial to orientations, which i guess was the result of the not so organized orientation on Friday. Well, my sec3 com members knows the best especially Xuan Ming, the game master, who suffered from many questions bombarded by us.

First of all, I would like to thank all the committee members for putting effort in organizing this orientation. Although, it was not considered as a success, we still managed to at least make the orientation go on. Well, I guess in we should learn from our mistakes that we have made in this orientation and not make the same mistake again when organizing the next event.

Anyways, forget about the orientation cause it only makes me depressed by how messy that day was. Well, it won't be long before the CO Camp Auditions come, in fact it is just this coming Tuesday, and for some, on Monday. So far I have managed to play the set piece but not yet the scale as it it is in F major and by instrument is tune to D | A | D | A |.

Well, i managed to master the first part of the scale which was notes ascending and descending consecutively but not the second part of the scale which which was also ascending and descending but the notes are now in thirds. Nevertheless, practice makes perfect, I consider my progress in learning the scale fast and hopefully in time for the auditions on Tuesday. So, wish me luck..

btw...watch this..

Well, this was my video project on the theme: "How to talk to your parents" although it better named as: "how to make your parents life easier"...lol. This project was quite last minute because we( my group members) kinda forgot about it...it was only when the teacher reminded us about the project, that we panic as that was one week b4 the deadline...because we have not film and edit the video yet!

Well, you would say there were many things to improve on such as voice projection and camera angles. You could say that the music kinda ended abruptly in different scenes/situation of the videos. That's because it is my first time as the editor and sometimes the camera had fade effect which made it diffcuit to know where it starts recording...

but oh well, now that everything is over, except the auditions of course, I have to finish up my holiday homework on...let's see, maths, physics, chemistry, music, social studies, geography elective and Chinese...practically every subject except PE..hopefully i will be able to finish everything by the end of the holidays to get some time to blog. Until then, I wish you all a happy march holidays ahead..

lol, next week we will have many test on music...almost every music lessons next week will have at least a test on Brandenburg concertos. We are currently tested on Brandenburg Concerto No.1 Movement 5 by Bach. The video below is place for the benefit of those who have not receive the recording of the concerto:

well, hopefully the video was helpful for our music students to listen and "memorize by heart" like what the teacher said...

lol anyways, it won't be long b4 the holidays come...lol, looking forward to that too, but it also won't be long b4 the next class mastery review which is two weeks after the holidays, moreover, i have to go on remedials even during my holidays, well, blame it on me not studying hard enough...

anyways, CO's sec1 orientation is held on this friday and as a member of sec3 committee, I have to play the role of the game IC. Till now, I have not gotten which game am I in charge of... sigh...time is running out and so are tmrs. Well, either we work fast or the orientation is doomed.

Well, hopefully for next week's test, I will be well prepared and ready to take the challenge and also for the sec1 orientation to be a successful one as our planning committee starts assigning game ICs.
