First Day Of School

lol...now blogging on the first day of school..some say that first day of school is the worse day of school..well, maybe for me it is. Not becuz I have done something wrong and got punished, but rather uncomfortable becuz you are stepping into a classroom of strangers..though it wasn't so bad as I had some of my CCA friends posted to the same class as me.
{FYI, for ex-classmates who dun know or interested to know yet, I am posted to 3-6 taking pure physics and chem(double science), pure music(weird choice I know) and geography elect..just to let you know so that I dun have to go around answering the same questions again.}
Moreover, I have to be waking up at 5:50am in the morning, probably normal for some early birds but not me of course since I am usually waking up at 6:45...lol. Well, i guess for a start, it is always best to be awake earlier so that i can reach school early or at most on time..
but as compared to 2-1 I know, this class is totally quiet. well, maybe only when a teacher asks a question but definitely much quieter that the 2-1 I know of...probably becuz it is the first day of school and they have not got to mix around yet...
sigh, many thing to start on the first day of school though, rite now, I am already given some video project to complete by this term and I have to start now becuz this project have many stages or checkpoints and therefore making us come up with like erm... Fact Sheets [I have no idea what is that], questionnaires [yea.. surveys blah..blah..blah], and scripts for narrator's and the actor's action
other than that I guess, would be nothing much to talk about since I am still adating to the new enivironment plus a new school system like every first day of school..will continue blogging some other time when I free. Probably may not have the time to do so in Sec3 this year, but I hope to keep my readers updated.. So, that's all for now

Reflections of Taiwan

Hey ppl (guess I always start like that), just came back a few days back from Taiwan. It‘s a pretty good place to spend your holidays if you are the type of person who likes to see sceneries in other countries.

Well, the first time I stepped out of Taiwan International Airport, the temperature there felt like a air-condition room. The temperature that was about 20-21 Degree Celsius, which was pretty alright for me since it is not much of a different compared to China and Australia, after all it is still autumn right?

Well, my trip was mainly just to explore Taiwan from the north to the south and back to the north again. Which include places like Hua Lian and Ah Li Shan, Kaoshiung, Taipei and Tai Zhong etc. Our tour traveled mainly by bus to visit these places. The only time we traveled by train was when we were heading to Hua Lian, since the mountain roads there were pretty difficult to travel, and also the cruise on Sun Moon Lake (since bus cannot travel on water rite?).

Well, in the roads of Taiwan, you would see lots of motorbikes. These are used because they are convenient and able to travel through alleys and small streets easily when delivering goods like gas. Hence, like some parts of china, you would see lanes for motorcycles and bicycles. However, do be careful especially in crowded places like night markets because the arrival of motorcycles can be hard to predict.

Sometimes, you may also see beggars lying on the streets in the night market. Don’t be trick by them, they may look sympathetic but they are actually not beggars, they are people who work for a certain gang to earn money by acting as a beggar on the street. If you observe them for a while, you would realize that when they grow tired, they will hide in a corner to smoke (cigarettes there are not cheap at all)…

There were many places that I have been in Taiwan; one of them was hua lian which I previously mentioned was by train. The three mountains there, known as Swallow Caves, Nine Turn Grotto and Tien Hsiang, are pretty majestic and refreshing. It can help to relieve stress and sometimes remind people of their hometown too (since they came from places where there are lots of mountains). From there, we learn about the lines formed on the rock and also learn to tell the different types of rocks form its colour. However, you will have to be careful of rock falls for there had been many landslides damaging the mountain roads and bridges. In fact, we also saw a huge rock which was predicted to fall anytime pretty soon, it is just a matter of time…Well, I’m glad the rock did not choose to fall during our trip or otherwise, we will be trapped.

Hua Lian’s people are pretty relaxed they don’t really rush most of the time. Everyday, they would wake up at 3am in the morning (that’s seriously early for me) and go fishing…then at about dawn, they would start going to work and continue working till evening, then get home and sleep at about 8-9pm (as they will have to wake up early again). This is their type of lifestyle which, I myself cannot adapt to it, since I am always sleeping at 1am and waking up at 11am. However, the only problem we faced in hua lian was the roads being too narrow, although they are starting to widen some of the roads there. Overall, hua lian would be one of my favourite places to stay if I don’t have to wake up at 3am…lol.

There was another mountain which I went which was much colder than hua lian’s. That was Ah Li Shan, that place had a temperature of about 8 degrees Celsius. Quite a normal temperature for a tall mountain but because we were too used to the weather in the cities, we felt pretty cold such that even my hands almost went numb. However, despite the cold weather, we enjoy walking through the forest of Ah Li Shan, where get to enjoy fresh oxygen from the trees and examine trees of age 800-2000 years old. It might sound absurd but it’s scientifically proven to be so. We also learn about the generation of trees and how we can tell how many generation has the tree grown.

Well, mountains were not only the places I visited in Taiwan, there are also places in the city which I visited like Kaoshiung, which was a different places as compared to Hua Lian, the people there are pretty much like Singaporeans, busy and anxious…though they are much more developed than Hua Lian. If you would ever go there, you would feel uncomfortable when crossing the roads as the drivers there takes the traffic lights as a reference. They dun really bother whether you are crossing the road at the right time, once there is a chance for them to pass through the crowd, they will do so. Hence, it would be best to follow the crowd when crossing the roads there (so at least you have some ‘protection’).

Still, they were places we visited in Kaoshiung. For example, the Fokuangshang, also known as the “Light of the Buddha” Mountain where we saw a 120 meter tall statue of a Buddha together with 480 standing Buddha statues around it.

The Pearl Culture Centre where we learn how pearl is made and it’s location in Taiwan. We also went to a place known as the Spring and Autumn Pavilions where there are two dragon and tiger statues which you can go into (it somehow reminds me of a bomb shelter). Well, definitely there will be a place to shop which will be the Liuho Night Market where the smell of chow tofu is quite strong (yuck!).

Still, nothing beats Taipei in shopping areas, amusement park and museums. In my opinion, Taipei would be the most developed city in Taiwan (de...it’s the capital city rite?). Well, we went to a place called Martyrs Shrine to observe/ partake the guard’s procession ceremony (that’s what they call it) to pay respect to heroes who died in World War II. We also visited the National Palace Museum where we see many ancient Chinese treasures (though we were not allowed to take pictures). W went to Yeliu Stone Park to examine wonderful formations of rock crafted by nature. We were actually the lucky ones to be able to touch the stones as it would be banned by next year for they do not want sweat to damage the rock formations.

Well, like Kaoshiung there will definitely be a place in Taipei to shop, which is Xi Men Ting...that’s where we bought our Jaw Chow CDs and also eat their KFC chicken popcorn…not forgetting about their popular guo zi, although I didn’t eat that. We also went to Tamshui Old Street to see its well-known iron-eggs (sound weird). We also went to Fisherman’s Wharf, pretty nice place to hang out, but be careful of slippery grounds if it rains…lol. Last of all, we went to visit TAPEI 101!!! Okay, because of bad weather, we couldn’t go up. After all, there are still lots to shop there right?

Taiwan, still have many places which I have yet to talk about…but the best part of the trip was celebrating my birthday and my brother’s too…we had in a restaurant just after lunch as we gathered everyone to participate in this joyful event. It was very nice of our tour guide to buy us a cake to celebrate our birthday with us and I guess that was the most wonderful and special birthday ever for me and probably my bro too..

I guess even though Taiwan may seem to be boring place for those who have not been there but I guess without such a great tour guide to make it entertaining for us, it would have been a really boring trip there…

Bass Addiction Blogskin

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Okay, if you are still wondering what this blogskin is...it is actually my new skin for this blog: "Bass Addiction". Yeah...it sounds funny I know but at least it is unique.
yup, believe it or not, i made this pretty simple blogskin...though the credits dun really goes to me...i got the source code from someone(for you to find out) and did much editing to this skin...therefore, the layouts were about the same....
However, due to copyright issues, I changed the font of the different headings and the blog content and of course the picture too(which i had made for this blog). though it was hard for me as a first timer, it went thorough pretty well with some guides from the web with HTML codes and layouts.
Basically, this blogskin was designed for very unique people who are addicted to bass (though it is weird but they do exist). These people I guess, will like bass in every music they listen to...as for the bass guitar, i guess it symbolizes the common way of how bass is produced or played thorough music these days, therefore it is used here... How the picture came about? Well, i kinda took a shot of a bass guitar and used GIMP to edit it a little with colouring, smudging and some lighting effects. So this is my copyright ☺
So, i will try to make another blogskin, maybe one with brighter colour since it it is rather dull for this blog if you find it and probably try out another blog layout for the next one...worse come to worse, just improve on this blog skin..

What to do, now all lessons stop becuz everthin has been taught, except for science lar becuz we all agreed to try out sec3 work....hard sia, but at least still can watch movie larz. eg, Spiderman, scary movie and so on...lol.

Sianz, now schooling is like a waste of time sia...maybe still got CCA but then most of the time in english lesson would be like reading. okay, I should get this straight..."reading is good for you, it improves your vocabulary". Wa lao and what do we read...Archey Comics? Marvel comics? ponorgraphy magazines? Well, for those better students readers digest(not that bad la, but a little boring to me), which was probably recommended by teachers. Still, what to do, our english results sucks...sigh still must admit I got 57...so, have to improve english sia...if not sec3 can go eat grass liao

Aiyah, I think I cannot wait anymore the holidays liao, wish they had holidays earlier. Well, to some of you, holidays at the end of October would sem to be rather early. I guess for me, I am too used to having earlier holidays. Guess have to learn to be more patient to these types of things lah. So, hopefully every readers(students) here will have a wonderful school holiday, enjoy....

Sec2 year sia ☺☻♥♦♣♠•◘○

wow, it has been almost 10 months ever since I last post...now the blog is so dead. Aiyah, just spoil the record of being the deadest blog for the longest hour!!!!!!Now cuz exam over, so got nth better to do than blogging.
"Sec2 sia must continue to enjoy till the very end of it, once go sec3, no more fun liao" A friend of mine said this to me...lol. which makes me wonder what will Sec3 life be. Well, maybe a little more complicated? Nah, probably because he regretted not studying hard enough during sec 1 & 2 or maybe really Sec 1 and 2 muz enjoy more lah. I regret no having enough fun in sec1 sia...now must do those sine cosine rules and tangent thingy in Trigo. Somemore got bearings and angle of elevation and depression, wa lao...lucky someone taught me how to use the storage memory function or something like that, if not I will confirm be needing to write the whole long and complicated answer lor. Ai yah, even until now, I still cannot remember ohms law and almost forgot the Law of Conservation of Energy...sianz. Can someone tell me what are they plz?!!!
For now since examinations have just ended, I should be wondering whether I can get into Sec3 sia...very scared that my results might not be able to even reach even the combine science standard. Still, for some reason, I feel very confident in getting into double science, dunno why sia...maybe because I am usually lucky when it comes to streamings and major examination, or I feel that I have studied hard enough for these examinations to get a grade to be granted excess for double science classes...
think this year, I slack too much sia, can be good and bad in many ways. Good for I am not a mugger toad of hwk, bad because result will confirm drop like crazy...as long as dun fail can liao lah, can't expect much with my standard now what...so must slowly improve lor. :P How slow will depend on me lor...overall, just happy that I have mastered the year from sec2 so now can really slack and play like seow..:-)), maybe also improve on my knowledge on emoticon.
Wah sianz, veri late sia...muz go sleep, blog next time...if there will be a next time. ?)

Treasure your parents

From the title, you might say why treasure our parents, they keep nagging and scolding us, making us feel hurt and so on. Most of the time, children would usually dislike their parents because either they keep scolding or keep nagging. We often think that our parents do this just to torture us or just for the sake of distress or just because it is their habit. However, have you ever thought of the message behind all the scolding and nagging?

The reason why parents scold or nag is because they care and love for you. If they did not care for you, why would they take the trouble to scold and nag at you all the time? It is not an easy job as a parent to do that, neither it is for the child to keeping hearing to the endless speech from what the parents say everyday.

Hence we should thank our parents for nagging and scolding us. They nag for the fear of you not being successful in life, not doing your best and the sufferings that you will go through in the future. They do this because they do not want you to follow the wrong footsteps and suffer in life, but they want you to live happily in future. Without them, we would not be the kids and teens we are now.

The best time to thank your parents is now, the living years. You may never know when you parents will one day leave you. By then, you will regret not apologizing and not telling them how much you cared for them despite all the nagging and scolding. Therefore, I suggest that if your parents are still around, thank them now, tell them how much you cared for them before you will never have a chance to do so in future. Therefore, I would like to apologize to my mother right now before it is too late.

Mom, I would like to ask for forgiveness from you, I would like to say that I am sorry to disappoint you in many ways. I have not appreciated what you have done for me in order to be a successful person in life and I have always rebelled against you and mistreated you in many ways. I have also made you anxious at times when times were urgent but I did not care about it. I would like to thank you, for giving me life to this world, for bringing me up till this day. i would also like to thank you for nagging at me for that shows that you cared for me even though we had misunderstanding at times. So, in return, for all that you feared of me, for what you have done for me, I would like to say that I love you.

Well, it is just so simple but yet meaningful. Therefore, if i have the courage to post this, so can you. Finally yet importantly, I would like to end off with this phrase, 'choices have consequences'. So, choose whether you want to do it now, or regret it in future. I would like to end off with this song, The Living Years. Take time to reflect upon it.

China(DongBei)

A week, maybe a few, I supposed, has past, my exams are over and i am now looking forward to my trip to DongBei in china. I don't know if you guys ever heard from that place but this place is where, from what i have heard, the future modern city will be located. However, i don't quite agree with that though, because I felt that DongBei was not really a suitable place for a new future to be established. I guess it is best to exprience it first before concluding. Well, other than that, I am still looking forward to go to china because there's always something new to learn from there and there might be something else that we may share among the locals there. I guess the purpose of this trip is to allow us to experience life in DongBei, the different geography and the history and culture. From what I have heard, China culture is very rich and its history is long and therefore I feel that China would be a good place to study about culture and history. Still, I will have to look up in the internet for books on DongBei, from there I can probably familiarise myself to DongBei's culture and History. Although the school wants to cover all the subject covered in my school, well, maybe not D&T or Home econimics but there's lots to learn. I am quite happy and excited but yet unhappy and worried that I will be immerse into a school in DongBei. Happy because it will be a chance for me to learn the attitudes of China student and maybe make friends with them. Worried because I am afraid that I would bring shame to my school if they find out that Singaporeans are slackers and weak in their chinese. I hope that everything would be fine there... Well, I guess it is time for me to pack my bag for this trip. Hopefully, I will be able to enjoy myself there and come back in one piece

Mastery Review

Create yours at BlingyBlob.com! The amount of time left is ticking away as the examination draws closer and closer each second. However, it is kinda funny, I am not worried at all, okay, maybe a little but I seem to be always relaxed whenever an examination comes. Usually if an examination was round the corner, you might be mugging till you drop, unless you are confident of getting a good grade. Well, for me, I did not study much, probably because you dun have to study for english, just have to know the concept to some explository writings and so on. Probably, I must have given myself a very low expectation of myself to at least pass the test and that I am confident that I will do so, since the pervious test was a prove. But sooner or later, I know I will have to give myself another higher expectation if not, I won't make it to the next level or probably be in the worst class or be expelled. I pray that I will be given wisdom and confidence to pass all the test with better marks than the previous ones by putting my best thorughout the examination days. So, wish me luck, LOL. Haha

This is posted by COLIN, who's a member of this blog as well. This blog hasn't been updated for ages yea. It's screwed in firefox due to all the stupid countdown clocks but otherwise it appears fine in IE. I won't be doing much posting here. I'll leave it to Leon for 90% of the posts. Enjoy!

It is has been a pretty long time ever since I have updated my blog. Now, some of my friends even created their own blog and some have changed their URL. All this things, I have not updated just because I have not been checking on blogs and updating my blog. Well, I actually felt very bad about how I have 'treated' my blog, I have not been posting reflections and entries for almost a year. Probably I should be following friends to posts at least once a week or so. However, I am still unsure if I can still be able to keep the regular schedules due to my busy days in Secondary School. then again, I made a vow too to myself not to close this blog even though it is always dead and I guessed that's how it remained till this day. I guess I will make blogging as a distressing method, not only to talk about what i have been going through but also the feelings about them. In conclusion, I will make it a point to blog as least once a month and after seceeding the first standard, I will slowly change it to once a week and then to everyday. So, I hope I will be able to reach my target for blogging and hopefully try to interest you guys.

Finally, the exams are over and that I can finally stop mugging, although some of you might say I am not mugging but slacking. Well, at least I can celebrate Chinese New Year happily instead of having to mug all day.
Somehow, I feel like I have two side of me which has two different feelings. The first side can't wait for the results to be announced but the second does not want to see the result. Probably I have not been doing quite well last year but I have told myself to start a New Year right.
Now, I am just happy that I passed my Chinese which I have failed to do so a lot of times last year and that is all I know for now. As for the rest of the subject, well, I will just have to depend on how much effort I have placed in it. Hopefully, I will be able to improve my results as I move on this year ahead.
Somehow, I feel like I have been acting a little stupid and dumb this few days not knowing what I was doing, what were happening in school. Lost a dictionary and a file because I never heard about the discarding of the lockers and had my books in it. Well, I placed my lock on the locker, and was told by the OM, that it was an indication that there are some things in the locker that has not been removed and therefore the locker shall not be removed. However, this did not happen for my locker, the lockers were removed even though I had my lock on it, which was a shock for me, the OM, and my family members. Well, the case carried on until today when it settled down for now since I have a new temporary locker and have made arrangements for a new Carpe Diem file which was in the locker that was cleared away. Though, all this was settled, the dictionary still could not been found even through searching high and low for it. This was not a good thing for that dictionary was not only mine but was also was expensive.
Second thing which still has not been resolved was about a guitar pick was cost $15, I know that sounds very expensive, yah, my family also felt the same way too. I felt a little cheated by the teacher for buying that pick from her. Hence, I will have to speak to the teacher personally and hopefully by god's grace, will be able to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

School has just started and it is the second day. Time flies...I blamed myself for not using my holidays to the fullest to prepare for this year.
Well, since the New Year has already started, I think I should not be regretting about the things I have done last year, but instead I should be starting afresh right? However, I still feel that I am not ready for this year. Well, probably because I am not use to the school. Guess I will have to wait a while for me to get used to school.
I guess this will be a good chance for me to do better in my studies and change my attitude towards people and towards by studies. Most likely, I wouldn’t mind participating in any of the class committee to try to serve the class.
Since I have to also learn to wake up early for school, I think I will stop here now. Hopefully I can start blogging when I am free during the holidays.
