From the title, you might say why treasure our parents, they keep nagging and scolding us, making us feel hurt and so on. Most of the time, children would usually dislike their parents because either they keep scolding or keep nagging. We often think that our parents do this just to torture us or just for the sake of distress or just because it is their habit. However, have you ever thought of the message behind all the scolding and nagging?
The reason why parents scold or nag is because they care and love for you. If they did not care for you, why would they take the trouble to scold and nag at you all the time? It is not an easy job as a parent to do that, neither it is for the child to keeping hearing to the endless speech from what the parents say everyday.
Hence we should thank our parents for nagging and scolding us. They nag for the fear of you not being successful in life, not doing your best and the sufferings that you will go through in the future. They do this because they do not want you to follow the wrong footsteps and suffer in life, but they want you to live happily in future. Without them, we would not be the kids and teens we are now.
The best time to thank your parents is now, the living years. You may never know when you parents will one day leave you. By then, you will regret not apologizing and not telling them how much you cared for them despite all the nagging and scolding. Therefore, I suggest that if your parents are still around, thank them now, tell them how much you cared for them before you will never have a chance to do so in future. Therefore, I would like to apologize to my mother right now before it is too late.
Mom, I would like to ask for forgiveness from you, I would like to say that I am sorry to disappoint you in many ways. I have not appreciated what you have done for me in order to be a successful person in life and I have always rebelled against you and mistreated you in many ways. I have also made you anxious at times when times were urgent but I did not care about it. I would like to thank you, for giving me life to this world, for bringing me up till this day. i would also like to thank you for nagging at me for that shows that you cared for me even though we had misunderstanding at times. So, in return, for all that you feared of me, for what you have done for me, I would like to say that I love you.
Well, it is just so simple but yet meaningful. Therefore, if i have the courage to post this, so can you. Finally yet importantly, I would like to end off with this phrase, 'choices have consequences'. So, choose whether you want to do it now, or regret it in future. I would like to end off with this song, The Living Years. Take time to reflect upon it.
